Dr. Scott Anderson

dr-scott-anderson-ddsDr. Anderson was born in Joliet, Illinois. After graduating from Western Illinois University, Dr. Anderson was accepted at the University of Illinois College of Dentistry in 1989.

After his first year of dental school he married his college sweetheart Teresa and swept her off to Chicago and dental school. He graduated from U of I in 1993. While there he enjoyed extracurricular studies in sports dentistry where he worked with both the UIC basketball and hockey teams.

School was great, but life after was much better. Receiving 1 of 11 scholarships from the United States Army, Dr. Anderson was off to North Carolina where he served for 3 years as a dental officer at Fort Bragg. While there, he was with the 82nd Airborne Division and enjoyed earning his “jump wings”. During his time at Fort Bragg he gained much experience from his daily schedule and other colleagues and specialists. Dr. Anderson was also blessed in another way while there. Their first child Madlin was born in 1994 and she was a wonderful gift from God.

Even though North Carolina was beautiful, they did miss family and friends back in Illinois. So in 1996, Dr. Anderson returned to Illinois where he practiced dentistry in Bloomington/Normal. Three years went by quick and their family was blessed a second time in 1997 with their son Chad.

Dr. Anderson’s last move has been the best. It was to Peoria in 1999 after Dr. Miller went into retirement and he gladly took over Dr. Miller’s half of the practice. Dr. Anderson and Dr. Paul have become great friends and share the same love of dentistry.

The staff and the patients have become his second family. Dr. Anderson enjoys the variety of general dentistry, crown and bridge, implants, root canals, and oral surgery. He also has enjoyed being the team dentist for the Peoria Pirates football team and the Peoria Rivermen Hockey team. He is a member of Peoria Downtown Rotary, the American Dental Society, the Illinois Dental Society, the Peoria District Dental Society, and the Academy for Sports Dentistry.
